The MED500X2 supports the very latest in Hard Drive Technology. The Built in Hard Drive Format utility will format the hard drive without the need for a PC. The X2 also gives basic support to Mac HFS + volume drives so now Mac users can also enjoy the Mede8er while retaining compatibility with existing equipment.

The X2 is one of the first Media Players on the market to support the very latest 3TB Sata Hard Drives.

The built in Hard Drive heat sink bracket assists in conducting heat from the Hard Drive in order to preserve a long and reliable lifespan of the Hard Drive.

The MED500X2 is the very latest Multimedia Player developed by Mede8er for today’s demanding media enthusiast. The X2 has been designed for good solid media playback from a hard drive, USB device, SD Card, Internet or Local Network source. The X2 is equipped with advanced features like Fast Gigabit Port and Super Fast USB 3.0 Slave port and is upgrade ready for the fast PCIe WiFi kit that will be available as an optional aftermarket upgrade kit. The Mede8er fully supports the very latest video codec's such as MKV-H264, BDMV, BDISO, M2TS for seamless playback of all supported media files. You can now pass full HD Audio streams via HDMI to your amplifier for a full 7.1 surround sound experience.

The MED500X2 is fitted standard with the special custom manufactured Mede8er Monprene low Shaw hardness TPE fan mounts. The mounts absorb the bulk of the fan vibration - very much like a cars shock absorber system with a result of a very quiet running player. The special low rpm fan used in the MED500X2 minimises the effects of fan wind noise.

The X2 supports Online Media Streams, so now you can launch YouTubeXL and browse or search the online videos of your choice. X2 will also stream Video Podcasts such as World News, US News, Technology, Entertainment, and Sports from all over the world. You can also browse the Internet or listen to Internet Radio or just enjoy Social Media like Facebook and Twitter. For correct system operation we recommend the use of an optional external wireless keyboard when using the Internet Browser.

Although the Mede8er is designed by Professionals we are also Users. Therefore a lot of thought has been put into the functionality of the MED500X2 to make it simple to use by all ages. So based on past experience and user comments we placed a very high level of importance on designing a function that will make setting up and using the X2 a real dream.

The MED500X2 is equipped with a powerful function that we call Favourites. Basically it is a list of Shortcuts that you the user easily create yourself. The Favourite Link will work as a shortcut link to any shared folder on your Local Hard Drive, hosted USB Drive, Samba and NFS Network Share. Our Favourites Manager will consolidate all your paths and links into one Favourites page no matter where the folders reside. So you can have multiple links residing on multiple locations all presented on one easy to read and manage Favourites page. Once the Favourite link is launched you will be presented with all of the folders contents in its normal native structure irrespective of the folder level depth. You can also easily remove a Favourite Link at any time should you wish to do so.

Full Parental Control and built in Watched Indicator

The X2 has a built in Pin Code Protection manager that allows you to limit access to folders locally or on your network. Now you can easily protect your family and kids from adult and sensitive material. The Pin Code folder protection is managed in the Setup consol and can be enabled or disabled by the authorized user at any time.

The built in watched indicator will automatically display video content that has already been watched on the Mede8er. This feature is particularly useful for those who watch a lot of TV Series and require a method of tracking the episodes that have already been watched.

The built in Alpha Jump really makes browsing your media a breeze. How often do you have to browse through pages and pages of files just to find the file you want to play? Not anymore, with the X2 you can now press any Alpha Numeric key on the remote and a screen prompt will display your selection and then X2 will jump to your selection.
